Personality traits of CEOs
One of the real pleasures at The Canadian Telecom Summit is the opportunity to meet a wide variety of CEOs from suppliers and service providers from around the world.
Each has a different personality and each a different approach to running their business and to the way they deal with people.
In yesterday's Financial Post, I wrote about Michael Sabia, CEO of Bell Canada - the phone company formerly known as BCE [

Hi, Mark. You're too easy on Mr. Sabia... sorry... Michael. The "nurturing" of those separate businesses possibly resulted in higher sale prices for those units; however, Bell's core business has lagged relative to the industry. The recent share price increase is based on a private equity firms purchasing Bell and doing things Mr. Sabia... sorry... Michael... should have already done or had his executive do.
Oh,yes...and strategic decisions seldom take a year to be realized. And even less seldom to they take a calendar year. So those three friends compared notes, but their note pages were probably blank.
WOW when i read this the only thing that comes to mind is:
Do you do any paid work for bell to give such praisings of this guy?
The only reason bell shares went up is because of the private equity firms/teachers union.

If Bell's core business has lagged compared to the industry, then why haven't private equity firms and the teachers union taken more interest in other telcos?

What other telcos? Once you exclude Rogers (Ted says "get lost"), TELUS (PE firms have considered them already, but more can be squeezed out of Bell), and MTS (who'd want to buy them!)...there's no one left to buy.
